A critical component of this development strategy is the recent Memorandum of Understanding between the SSIA and the United Workers of Electronics & Electrical Industries. This agreement aims to future-proof jobs by equipping the workforce with necessary skills and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices across the industry value chain.

The focus is on leveraging R&D capabilities to explore emerging materials such as gallium nitride and silicon carbide, and innovative packaging technologies.
The path forward for Singapore's semiconductor industry involves a harmonized approach integrating technological adoption, workforce advancement, and strategic geopolitical navigation. By prioritizing these areas, Singapore can not only sustain its existing market footholds but also position itself as a pivotal player in the semiconductor arena worldwide.
